World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association player of the year for a second consecutive year.

The 27-year-old secured four tournament victories – the highest tally on the circuit – which included retaining the US Open this past September against Amanda Anisimova to secure her fourth career Grand Slam singles triumph.

A Year of Dominance

Throughout the year, Sabalenka reached a circuit-leading nine finals, with defeats coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.

The star player also won the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the entire year as the world number one, finishing 2025 atop the rankings for a second straight year.

This past summer, she became the first athlete to top 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams in 2015.

Record-Breaking Statistics

Sabalenka finished the season with a 63-12 match record, and earned a historic £11m in earnings.

She garnered nearly 80% of the votes cast by global tennis journalists.

Later this month, she is scheduled to face 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match with the aim of "elevate women's tennis to a new level".
