English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the upcoming Young Athlete of the Year award.

The trio have been recognised for their outstanding achievements over the last year.

Agyemang helped the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin rose to fame with a historic innings.

Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his breakthrough year.

The finalists were announced live on a popular morning radio program.

This year's winner will be revealed live on the annual sports awards show on Thursday, 18 December.

The ceremony will be aired from seven in the evening GMT.

Michelle Agyemang

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Only 90 days after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.

She was introduced as a substitute to score crucial late equalisers in both the knockout stage games.

Her incredible contributions led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.

Later in the year, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the top young European talent.

She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.

"To be named a finalist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

The year started for Littler in spectacular fashion as - while still 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

His success continued - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, smashing the previous record.

"Earning a spot on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a big honour," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a proud moment for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."

The Cricket Sensation

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and burst into the spotlight with an remarkable and historic innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.

It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin finished second in the run-scoring charts and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.

"I'm truly honoured to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it encourages more young females to get into cricket."
