The British player advanced to round three in three of the four Grand Slams during the season.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain will not compete in the last two tournaments of the year due to the illness she has been fighting over the past 10 days.

Raducanu, aged 22 had planned to participate in Tokyo and Hong Kong but has decided to fly home to recover prior to beginning next year's training.

Her upcoming training will involve coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals have decided to continue collaborating in 2026.

She underwent blood pressure monitoring during her first-round match against Ann Li in Wuhan and retired when trailing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She again required a doctor's assessment at the Ningbo Open this week, where she was defeated in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the first round.

She was also playing with clear difficulty in the deciding set versus Zhu due to a lower back issue that has been a concern at times this year.

Such performances signaled a promising season, in which the player advanced into the world's top 30 after more than three years for the first time since 2022, finished with a trio of defeats.

She held three match points prior to falling to Pegula in the third round in the Beijing tournament last month.

The player achieved twenty-eight matches during 2025 and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at March's Miami Open.

Ranked first in Britain advanced to the quarters of this WTA 1000 tournament, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament prior to a loss in three sets to the world number four Pegula.

She worked with trainer Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig taking over in time for the US Open.

The original arrangement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was until the end of the season but they will keep working together, with a training session scheduled in the coming months.

The athlete revealed that a three-day test period alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

She came very close to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at their initial event as a team in August's Cincinnati tournament.

Roig joined her in the New York tournament, where she made the third stage before being beaten by 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
