Nigel Farage Claims Educators of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Racial Topics
Nigel Farage has asserted that teachers would go on strike within weeks a success at the polls for his party, accusing them of “harming young minds” by telling students that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and Caucasian students are perpetrators.
During an event for a Michigan-based religious institution, the politician expressed his perspective on the UK education system, stating that the “radical left-wing” had “taken over schooling”.
“I’m anticipating a teachers’ strike soon after winning the next general election,” he remarked during a Q&A session.
“They are poisoning our kids. They are telling them to feel guilt about their nation. They inform little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is a victim and a white child of the same age that he is a perpetrator. They create division, instead of fostering unity. They promote this harmful mindset.”
In response to these assertions, Daniel Kebede dismissed the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “nonsense”. Kebede noted that any strikes must relate to educators’ working conditions, and doubted whether Reform would attack these immediately upon entering government.
“Farage has built his political career on coded rhetoric and currently, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their organizations for a conflict,” Kebede stated.
“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. Neither I nor our union – advocate such divisive theories as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would undermine state services, particularly schooling … and the outcome would be catastrophic for students and learning.”
Reform, which is leading the polls by about 10 points, has provided limited specifics on a proposed education policy and does not appear to have designated an education lead.
Nonetheless, his comments suggested the group would reform the system and the curriculum. Farage declared: “We have got a massive job with education – absolutely herculean. And, it won’t happen quickly; it requires years, years to turn this around.”
He stated that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.
Honoring Charlie Kirk, Farage said: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to educate individuals that multiple perspectives exist and you make up your own mind rather than what’s happening now where views are labeled good or bad. This is a huge undertaking in both Britain and America.”
Reform has previously clashed with the UK’s largest teaching union, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and dismissed Farage as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.
The politician has charged the union head with being “an avowed radical” … someone who is absolutely determined that our children should be poisoned through education, their thinking tainted about everything to do with this country” and has argued that the union is trying to indoctrinate teenagers against Reform.
Almost one million people are employed in education in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has about 450,000 members.
Countrywide walkouts over teacher pay and conditions in recent years caused widespread disruption in schools and extensive missed instruction for children.
At the US event, the Reform leader also pledged to help spread the online educational material of the institution in the UK. He stated organizations like it were “key to resistance”, noting: “I mean this. I will help garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of young people to these educational programs. I make that commitment tonight and I’ll do that.”
The college, a small private Christian college, provides complimentary classes. According to its online description: “Comprehensive learning is vital for well-being and to maintain the benefits of civil and religious liberty. The college furnishes these beautiful courses for no charge to every interested learner.”
