The US attorney for the eastern district of Virginia handled the presentation of this case before the judicial panel on Thursday, the person said.

Halligan was installed in the role last month following Donald Trump grew impatient over the speed of investigations against his rivals.

This occurs 14 days after Halligan secured charges targeting the former FBI director.
