The newest Far Cry instalment that players explored was Far Cry 6, that showcased Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and came out on October 6, 2021. It’s no surprise that FX's new order for a Far Cry anthology series brought on board two visionaries whose projects have exemplified all of those qualities.

Based on Ubisoft's hit video game property, the self-contained anthology series will stream on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The show will also mirror the video games' style by featuring a different backdrop and cast of characters in subsequent series.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as showrunners on the series under their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had outstanding relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is original, gripping, and wildly entertaining. We also want to thank our partners at Ubisoft for trusting us with this popular property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also feature in the show, but as of now, we have no details on what role that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago approved for another season, with FX and Disney finalizing a new long-term contract with the producer.

A schedule for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
