Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.

David Walliams

Best-selling young adult author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

An official for the publisher stated: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was reached following an inquiry regarding claims about inappropriate behaviour towards young women.

The company declined to specify the reasons for its decision, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies internationally in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Some of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.

He has published over four dozen titles altogether, encompassing a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.

Television and Literature

His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
