Barcelona Ready for Historic Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend
The club confirmed they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome the Bilbao team in the Spanish league two and a half years since relocating for construction to commence.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside under the licence granted. After final construction, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.
Stadium Testing
Barcelona held a public practice inside the stadium in early November. The club said they are seeking authorization from European football’s governing body to host the next European match versus the German side next month at the stadium. They have been hosting matches at Estadio OlĂmpic LluĂs Companys.
